Life is a good place to be is the title of the new project by the artistic duo Aggtelek, formed by Gema Perales and Xandro Vallés.

Aggtelek’s pieces are characterized by their expressiveness, vitality, humor and color. Aggtelek are painting landscapes, flowers, phrases full of positivity to face life, portraits of friendly spirits, palm trees and Tabasco boats. All based on their experiences and lives.

Through dynamic and expressive strokes of acrylic paintings, they have made ten unique canvases where figuration and abstraction are mixed. In this way they achieve an imaginary in which they explore the symbolism of contemporary culture, always from a light and sarcastic point of view.

The cravings of their unlimited visual appetite have made Aggtelek’s work the typical menu of a fast-food chain, an exact X-ray of the time in which they live.

Aggtelek have exhibited in galleries, museums, biennials and art fairs around the globe, such as MOCA (Los Angeles), Fundació Tapies (Barcelona), Stedelijk Museum Het Domein (Sittard) or Liste (Basel), Shangart (Shanghai), MACO (Mexico City), ARCO (Madrid), ArteBo (Bogota) and KIAF (Seoúl).

With humor and a lot of color, their pieces are a reflection of the world in which we are living.
