DIEGO CANOGAR

Diego Canogar

Diego Canogar, sculptor, born in Madrid in 1966. Graduated in Fine Arts in 1992 from the Universidad Complutense Madrid.

Canogar was president of the Mínimo Tamaño Grande sculptors association between 2008 and 2013, coordinating itinerant collective sculpture exhibitions in the community of Madrid.

The artist won several international sculpture awards, including the Leonardo Martínez Bueno, the Mateo Inuria and the First International Prize for sculpture from the Capa foundry in 2020. Gold Medal for Artistic Merit for Sculpture Maite Espínola from the Pro Arte group and Culture.

Canogar is also required as a jury for sculpture contests such as the Rafael Canogar International Sculpture Contest in La Roda and the Capa Foundry Contest as the winner of the first edition.

The artist has six public monuments such as the sculpture "Gran Tetramorfo" in Navacerrada and the sculpture "Victoria" in Navas del Marqués. He has participated in multiple fairs such as: Estampa, Casa-Decor, ARCO, SUMMA ART and Artmadrid 2021.

He accumulates more than 200 collective exhibitions and 25 individual ones throughout 30 years.

Individual exhibitions include: "Iron Drawings" in 2010 in the Zaida room in Granada; “Afloramientos” 2010 at the Rayuela gallery in Madrid; “Curvas” in 2014 at the Bat gallery, Alberto Cornejo, which is currently his main reference gallery in Madrid; “The Suggestive Void” in 2016 at the Typhlological Museum in Madrid; “Cosmology” in 2017, in the Est Art space in Alcobendas; “Curves, straight lines and voids” in 2018, at the Amaga de Avilés gallery and “Transitions” in 2018 again at the Bat gallery, Alberto Cornejo. In the past 2020 he has participated in an interesting collective: "La jewel Hecha Sculpture" in the Primavera 9 space in Madrid, a gallery specialized in sculpture, in which he has been able to explore other fields of creation such as author jewelry.
