Marta Font

Marta Font was born in Valldemossa, Mallorca, in 1977.

Font’s work is situated close to Asian thought and its aesthetics, around concepts such as emptiness, memory, accumulation, fragility, permanence, repetition and its relationship with nature.

Her technique can be defined as a performative process. Crafts and meditation combine her plastic and conceptual universe in multidisciplinary installations, where silence speaks to us through personal sensations and emotions.

Marta Font has training in sculpture and engraving. The artist carries out actions and performances with the Las Performers collective and has developed numerous artistic-educational projects linked to the social and community sectors. Font has exhibited in important galleries and public spaces such as the Casal Son Tugores, the Coll-Bardolet Foundation, Can Gelabert or the Centro Cultural de la Misericordia.
