Joan Llaneras

Joan Llaneras (Mallorca, 1989) is a versatile and self-taught artist. Through his work, he tries to create some doubt in the viewer, some transcendental reflection or emotion that can be useful for a change. The artist conceives art as a tool that can awaken spirituality in humanity that is lost in this society marked by consumer, superficial and capitalist trends.

Being immersed in a creative process such as painting a work is to evoke an irresistible message of deep emotions that remove the essence of human beings.

Llaneras has the need to recognize himself in these processes and remember his own fragility, reflecting the environment that surrounds him in a world full of injuries, misery and misfortunes, which make up a terrible inequality of gender and social classes.

For the artist, the message of a work of art can correct the path towards the good. It is only a matter of insisting that it cannot be forgotten.

After studying the Degree in Art at the EHU UPV (Bilbao, 2012), in recent years he has developed creative immersion processes in places such as Bilbao, Berlin, Colombia, Lisbon, Naples, Rome, or Florence, participating in collective exhibitions and carrying out individual exhibition projects.
